It has been a busy start to the term so far. We welcomed eight new families to our setting we hope that they have all settled in and are enjoying their time with us. We would appreciate you reading this newsletter and referring to it over the coming weeks, lots of exciting events to keep us entertained.
Christmas Fundraising Concert Update Thank you, we raised a fantastic £485.70 we are hoping to order some new resources shortly – we will keep you updated.
Song/Rhyme Sheet Please continue to help your child/children to learn these songs and rhymes at home, we regularly sing the songs in Pre-school but the extra practice at home will support your child’s language skills whilst having fun too.
Chinese New Year Friday 19th – 21st February When we return after half term we will be celebrating Chinese New Year with a range of activities including food tasting, if your child has any allergies that we are not aware of please let us know as soon as possible. If you have any Chinese items that we could borrow for this event please speak to Laura, Shelley or Georgina.
World Book Day – Thursday 1st March Celebrate World Book Day ~ we invite the children who attend that day to dress up as their favourite book character (sensible footwear please). We will be focusing on a favourite story that day with activities to support Communication/Language and Literacy development in all rooms. Don’t forget our Home Library located in the foyer ~ please feel free to borrow the books.
Easter Concert – Wednesday 28th March arrive 10.15am for a 10.30am start More news to follow after half term, but please note there will be no morning preschool sessions, breakfast club or lunch club that day.
Collection of children To ensure that the end of our sessions can be completed without too much disruption please could parents/carers arrive promptly and refrain from standing too close to the main hall double doors. Children can become distracted if they see their family members and this can then unsettle other children. Our song and story time is an important time for the children to come together.
Dental Hygiene We will be talking to the children over the next two terms about good dental hygiene if you require any support or would like information about local dentists please speak to a member of staff.
Play Room For those children who attend morning sessions in the play room please ensure children arrive promptly for 9.00 am so that our registration activities can be carried out with minimal interruption.
Nappies, Pull Ups, Wipes etc. (if applicable) Please can you ensure that your child has adequate quantities of items in their bag for each session, Due to rising costs we are unable to provide toileting items free of charge.
Children who are poorly If your child is feeling unwell please keep them at home, if they have needed Calpol or equivalent before they are due to come to Preschool we ask that your child does not attend until they are better. If your child has had sickness or diarrhoea please keep them off for at least 48 hours after they last had any symptoms in line with our policies.
